It occurs to me that we are about 10 years away from being on the other side of the speculative fiction 2001: A Space Odyssey. Released in 1968, 33 years from the titular time in which it’s set, we are ten years out from having the real 2001 in the rear view mirror for the exact span of time.
A lot can happen in ten years.
