I started a blog a few years ago over at Posterous. I had been away for awhile, busy with other things. Mostly sulking and trying to figure things out, which ironically was part of the purpose of the blog in the first place.

Refreshed and motivated, I returned to my “Space”, only to be notified that Posterous will be closing up shop in April. They’ve sold themselves to Twitter and will be spending more time on that. Apparently Twitter is not a fan of long form thought in any arena of their business plan.

This ultimately will work out because I already like WordPress much better simply because they have a spell check and among other things, it just seems superior. However, I’m currently having trouble importing the old blog to the new one. And this gets me to thinking about all we do and how it all fades away eventually.

The idea of having this stuff floating here when I’m long gone is attractive and yet I wonder how long even our virtual remnants will persist after our passing. Like everything else, we have no way of knowing for sure.

But I guess we continue doing what we’re doing to keep our minds off such weighty matters.
