Is there a point to trying to find common ground when it appears that the other side is just flat out wrong? Is there a value to trying to understand why the other side thinks the way it does?
I think so because I think often those representing the other side, or leading the other side (which isn’t always the same thing), isn’t necessarily representative of all those on the other side.
Sometimes the other side seems flat out wrong to me – I’m unable to even understand how one could think a certain way. Blindly accept certain things. I’m sure the feeling is mutual, but often it’s disagreeing with facts. Or at least what appears to be facts.
Is it possible that we’re not only turning into two countries, but two different realities?
That’s just weird.
And on a more personal note, is trying to see everyone’s side a waste of time? Especially if it blurs your own view? I would hope it would bring things into clearer focus.
But the jury’s still out on hope.
